  Abstract: Neutron diffraction is the most powerful tool in the study of magnetic structures. Our instrument POLI, located at high-flux reactor, FRM-II, is a very versatile instrument in state of art offering different measuring techniques. Three single-crystal diffraction methods are implemented already on POLI. Namely, (1) classical single crystal neutron diffraction in extreme environments like high magnetic fields, very low/high temperatures, high voltage, pressure cells, etc. and their combinations, (2) flipping-ratio measurements at high magnetic field and (3) zero-field spherical neutron polarimetry using the third generation Cryopad. Rather high flux hot neutron makes POLI attractive also for the experiments in nuclear physics or medical research. 

  In this report, we will show the basic principle of neutron diffraction in research of complex magnetic structures and the design of our instrument with the emphasis on the polarization components and extreme environments. Several examples of applications would be presented in resolving different challenging aspects in crystalline structure and magnetic structure of complex magnetic materials.

  邓昊博士自2016起在亚琛工业大学晶体研究所驻Heinz Maier-Leibnitz研究中心博士后,单晶衍射仪POLI HEiDi谱仪科学家;2015-2016:中国科学院上海硅酸盐研究所助理研究员;2010-2015:中国科学院上海硅酸盐研究所博士;2006-2010:吉林大学学士。在无铅铁电单晶制备生长、结构研究,磁阻挫材料磁结构研究等领域开展了一系列工作,在Physical Review XPhysical Review B, Nanoscale, Crystengcomm, Applied Physics Letters等国际期刊上发表学术论文20余篇。
