Some lead-free and lead-containing perovskites exhibit a relaxor-like behavior. The scope of this presentation is the systematic comparison of their properties with those of canonical lead-containing relaxors, such as PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3 and PbSc1/2Nb1/2O3.
The main attention would be paid to NaNbO3-Sr0.5NbO3-LiNbO3 solid solutions and PbFe0.5Ta0.5O3 ternary perovskite. Both these materials exhibit some features characteristic of relaxors, namely fulfilment of quadratic and linear Curie-Weiss laws for ε' just above and well above the temperature Tm of ε’(T) peak respectively, the Vogel-Fulcher scaling of both ε’(T) and ε”(T) peaks. However a lot of differences were revealed as compared with the properties of canonical relaxors.
