　　Ms Deborah Logan is currently the Publishing Director for Elsevier’s materials science journals programme, which is the largest publishing programme in materials science, and which includes many flagship titles and world-class editors. As well as overseeing the programme as a whole, Deborah is also publisher for Progress in Materials Sciences; Current Opinion in Solid State & Materials Science; Nano Today; and Nano Energy, which she lauuched in 2013. She has appointed almost alls of the editors for theses journals, and has learned much from them over the years. Deborah has been working with Elsevier at theirs offices in Oxford, UK, since 2005. Before then, she worked at Oxford University Press and at Oxfam Publishing in UK; at a non-governmental agency in Kenya; and with the Japanese Ministry of Education and at Sony in Japan. Deborah sees Asia as the most interesting region for materials science research, both now and in the future, and is fully committed to developing Elsever’s materials science journal programme to benefit authors, reviewers, and editors from Asia.
