First Announcementof the WGMCS-1
June22-24, 2014, Shanghai, China
Organized by
Shanghai Instituteof Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences
You are cordially invited to participate to the first Workshop on Garnet and Multicomponent Ceramic Scintillators (WGMCS-1) , which will be held on June 22--24, 2014, at the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS), in Shanghai, China.
The aim of the workshop is to provide a forum for material scientists, chemists and physicists, to discuss the state of the art of scintillator ceramics, including basic aspects and promising applications, and to give an insight into future advances and research possibilities in this field. The workshop will include only invited talks. We hope that the workshop will bring together leading experts from all over the world, stimulate active discussions and links between researchers and give a brilliant opportunity for the participants to start further fruitful research collaborations.
The workshop is a trilateralinitiativeamongChina, Czech Republic and Italy. It is our great honor and pleasure to organize the first workshop in Shanghai,China.
Main Topics
The first workshop will cover the following topics:
1. Fabrication technology of scintillator with garnet structure;
2. Mechanisms of ionizing radiation conversion and optical properties of scintillators;
3. Design of novel scintillation materials including theoretical and computational investigations;
4. Development, design and potential application of novel detectors.
We are looking forward to seeing you at WGMCS-1in Shanghai.
