ABSTRACT: Dr. Zhu Weiguang received his BSc. and MSc. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, and Ph.D from Purdue University, USA. Currently, He is a Professor at Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, Fellow of IES, Chair of Asian Ferroelectric Association, and Chair of Asian Electroceramics Association. Dr. Zhu is a member of American Ceramic Society, Materials Research Society, and a Senior Member of IEEE. Dr. Zhu has served as member or Executive Chair of the Organization/Program or Advisory Committees of 1st -5th Asian Meeting on Ferroelectrics; member of Executive Board of Asian Ferroelectric Association; member of International Advisory Committee of 6th - 8th International Symposium on Ferroelectric Domain and Domain Structure; member of Scientific Program Committee of International Conference on Materials for Advanced Technology 2003; Organizer of International Dielectrics Symposium, 105th American Ceramic Society Annual Meeting, Chairman or member of Executive/Program or Advisory Committee of 3rd – 6th Asian Meeting on Electroceramics; International Scientific Committee, 2002 World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society (WSEAS) International Conference on Electronics, Control and Signal Processing and so on.

Dr. Zhu has held/filed 8 patents, published about 300 technical papers in international journals and conferences, including ~ 30 invited papers, more than 180 referred international journal papers, and been invited as the Guest Editor for J. Ferroelectrics and Related Materials, J. Ceramics International and Ceramic Transactions, Member of Editorial Board of J. Ferroelectrics, Editor of J. Ceramics International and so on.

Dr. Zhu has received the Outstanding Achievement Award from 16th International Symposium of Integrated Ferroelectrics. His research interests includes electronic materials, thin films, ferroelectrics, high-k dielectrics, microwave tunable dielectrics, gas sensors, high-Tc superconductors, superionic conductors, shape memory alloys, atomic diffusion, optical and electron holography, crystallography, and ferroelectric composites. Currently, Dr. Zhu is the supervisor of Sensors and Actuators Laboratory in the school of EEE, Nanyang Technological University.
